My gear

So, my gear!!!

Last summer there has been alot of new cool stuff when it comes to longdistance longboarding! thers a new pusher, a new rayn board, a lot of new riders, there has been a lot of cool trips and i start to think that this crazy thing we have started with actually seems to look like a propper sport! not just some crazy nutts with boards!

And with that in mind, and simply by watching the guys and girls who does this, there is a lot of different gear an board beeing used, and some of us might agree or disagree on what is the best gear and stuff. the main thing is that we all like different thing or doing different routs and all that, so the board and the weels and the trucks will differ from peep to peep, and that is a werry good thing, it creats evelution in this sport.

i will shortly tell you guys about what i was using  in China 2010, when it comes to board -set up and why, and i will tell you about the other acessories i have with me that worked and stuff.

board(s)

main:
Rollsrolls woody: the most fun board i have ever had, but unfortunatly i forgot to take the weight of my backpack in to calculation and there where 10kg to mutch on the board. the board is made of wood and while that is a werry fun and good thing when you dont have a backpack, it was its weekness. I will gladly recomend this board to annyone, but if you are going on a longtrip, tell the guys that you whant it stiffer and your total weight and they will fix it for you i am shure (hope i am not saying annything i am not supposed to hehe). (Woody review)

reserve:
Rayn deamonseed! i might bee a little harsh when it comes to my Seed (yeah i called it Seed), but i went from Woody that is flexible and fun to Seed that is hard and solide, that it is supposed to bee, since it is an awesome downhillboard, but i am not doing anny  downhill now, i dont have my glowes and i have a huge backpack on my back. and i am not a good downhill racer with my backpack, so to me the deamonseed bringes to little to the table to bee my first choice! but on the pluss side, its a qualety board that will last you the duration of your trip nomather how far it is!

trucks

Randal and Bear, regular! got  noting bad to say about anny of them, first time i have used the bear trucks, and they feel as they are supposed to, so i guess landyatch have done their job there, and i have never had anny probs on the randals before, and that is actually the only trucks i have ever used, so YEY randal

weels

i use landyatch hawgs, white: not happy about them, but i think i just have a fantasy that no weels are better than the BigZigs and its queen Gumballs, so do not take my critic in to acount when you are deciding your weels, use what you feel is right for you and it will probbaly be alright! or ask annybody with mor xp than me

bearings

the only real crittic i have to say, is about the inipendent bearings, and that is as following. Dear indipendent, why are you making thos things you call bearings? Did you know that i was going to test you out and you purposely just made some shit you could sell me to enoy the living crap out of  seeing me struggle? They last you 2weeks and they are going to stop your board mid hill and you will have to push your way down! i am actually not exaggerating!!!! DO NOT BUY THEM!!! TRUST ME!!! Buy Bones, its the only way to go(roll) you save energi caus you roll better and you feel better when you are using them, caus it feels like your weels have small motor in them! BONES! pluss they last you as long as you let them, whit lube and fallse promisses!

acsessories

Camelback: or those of you who dont know what that is, its a little bag you can fill water in and put in your bag, while you have a straw from your water bag and out from your bag so you can drink while you are skating, saves you time and space in your backpack, bags comes in 1 and 3 liter, take the 3liter, they last longer than you think, but remember to check how mutch you have once in a while, sometimes yuo dont remember that you actually drank as mutch an you get a bad suprice!
best thing i bought to take on the trip

pocket towel: yeah you guessed it, pocket towel, its a size of 2sigaretpackages and it dryes really quick!

medic kit: you dont need every thing but antiback, sutur cit, ispack, some andages and taip! thats all you need! maby a siccor, but ou know, try to realice that there is always a way to call 911 if you ned it so do not bring annything other than what you actually need, save space and weight

padds and helmet: just use it, get some small knee pads and wear them, remember that you like longboarding and would like to do it for as long as you can! and siply by wearing a helmet and other pads, you can prolong this as mutch as possible! all it takes is one little rock or twig to make shore your knees or ankle gets fucked up for life so WEAR PADS

USB drive: you dont need a computer, but it is nice to have, but if you are traveling and want to save space, bring a usb drive, for picture or dokulent you wright at internet cafees,  small and handy

a knife: small swizarmy knife or something is allways good to have, at one point you'l need it

a little lunch box: its cheeper to bye food at a supermarked and  this justt make shore that you ont mess up the rest of your bag,

GPS: i use a hanheld Garmin Trex Legend® HCx  and they are really the only reason i have been able to travel in a contry that i dont speek the native language in, anny way 24hour battery life pluss, water and shock resistant (i dont know if they truely ar but mine has taken a hell of a beating and gone trogh shit loads of rain, and it still runs!) its a little difficult to understand it in the beginning, but spend 2hour playing with it and you'l know every thing there is to know about it! Its light and stuff as well so its perfct for longdistance longboarding, you get extra straps to it and clips and stuff. allso you can put a SD card in it to save your trip log.
